Nonconsensual intimate images: how to request removal
Intimate images are prohibited here, whether real, edited, or AI-generated. The person depicted or someone authorized to act for them may use Help & Requests → Intimate image shared without consent without signing in. Include your contact information, the image or video’s link or enough detail to locate it, a brief good-faith explanation that it was published without the depicted person’s consent, and your electronic signature. The form collects those items and your confirmation of authority. Do not attach the image itself. A request may concern a minor; the adult-profile rule does not restrict access to this removal process.
Our removal responsibilities
Under the TAKE IT DOWN Act, a valid request requires removal as soon as possible and within 48 hours, with reasonable efforts to identify and remove known identical copies. When the form can identify hosted content, it restricts public access while the operator reviews and checks copies. File hashes support restrictions on identical files and future reuploads; edited or cropped copies may require additional review. You receive a request reference and a private status key. If more location information is needed, we will say so through the request status or appropriate follow-up; a legally valid request is not delayed merely because no profile or sign-in exists. We may preserve restricted evidence where a legal duty requires it. You can report a platform’s failure to meet its obligations at TakeItDown.ftc.gov.
Other consent, safety, and privacy removals
Choose Impersonation / privacy concern, Child safety, Harassment / threat, or Privacy request for other concerns. Give the profile or media location and enough context to evaluate it. A depicted or named person can request review of impersonation, unlawful disclosure, harassment, or other infringement of their rights even if they do not manage the profile. The managing account can also directly remove its profile or a moment from Our Profile. Do not retaliate against reporters or misuse this process. Ask for a review using Moderation appeal if you believe a restriction was mistaken.
Copyright complaints
Choose Copyright concern and identify the copyrighted work, the allegedly infringing material and its location, your contact information, and your electronic signature. Confirm your good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the rightsholder, agent, or law, and that the information is accurate and you are the rightsholder or authorized representative, under penalty of perjury. We review reports, can remove or restrict material, and limit repeat infringers where appropriate. This reporting channel is a general copyright-complaint process. We do not represent that a DMCA designated agent has been registered or that every statutory safe-harbor requirement has been satisfied. An official agent’s name and contact details will be posted only after the operator confirms the registration.
Responses, appeals, and legal requests
Status updates are available with your private reference and key. Do not put another person’s contact information in public profile text. If you are an affected uploader, choose Moderation appeal with the relevant profile or request reference and explain your rights or consent. Restoration is subject to safety, applicable law, and the circumstances; it is not automatic. Law-enforcement and legal requests can be submitted through Help & Requests, without sending prohibited content or unnecessary personal documents. This process does not replace emergency services, regulator complaints, court orders, or other rights available under the law.
